When the collagen fibers of the skin have been stressed due to stretching, thereby becoming frayed, and the process is repeated, stretch marks can appear on the surface of the skin. Stretch marks are visible on the surface of the skin and have characteristically abnormal surface textures which result from broken skin fibers. Although men also have them, they are more common in women in areas such as the hips, buttocks, thighs and breasts.
Wherever they may appear on the body, stretch marks can make women feel more self-conscious and lack body confidence. As such, treating them can help combat this negative psychological effect and improve a woman’s confidence. As far as breast stretch marks are concerned, there are natural remedies available that women can use to help reduce their appearance, and regain some of their body confidence. Best of all, these remedies can be applied in the comfort and privacy of one’s own home, are safe and are effective. These remedies include Aloe Vera, castor oil, alfalfa leaves, egg whites, cocoa butter, lemon juice, olive oil, sugar, water, and potato juice.
Water And A Healthy Lifestyle
To improve the appearance of your skin, put first things first. Skin care starts from the inside out. As such, eating well by limiting your intake of processed foods and increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals will do wonders for your skin, whatever the condition. Drinking lots of water will also help detoxing the body and skin while restoring the skin’s elasticity. Consuming the expert recommended eight glasses of water per day is a good place to start. Adding regular moderate exercise is also a plus.
Potato Juice
Potato juice is great for treating and renewing the skin cells by way of the many vitamins and minerals it contains. To use potato juice as a part of your treatment, you will need at least 1 medium-sized potato which you will cut into thick slices. Rub the slices piece by piece over the affected areas, ensuring that the potato juice covers the marks. Subsequently leave the juice for some time, allowing it to dry, before washing the area with lukewarm water.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is another great extract found in your kitchen that can be used to lessen the appearance of stretch marks. The active ingredient is the citric acid. Simply rub fresh lemon juice (not the over processed over the counter kind) unto the affected areas in a circular motion and allow it to sit for a minimum of 10 minutes. As is the case with the potato juice, rinse with warm water when you are finished.
Sugar
Believe it or not, white sugar (the natural kind) is great for getting rid of stretch mark. This sugar should be mixed with a few drops of lemon juice and almond oil. Rub the mixture onto the affected skin and let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing the area. Do this consistently for a minimum of 30 days (approximately one month) to begin seeing positive results.
Egg Whites
Egg whites, fork, a bowl and a makeup brush are all you need to begin seeing great results. Whip two egg whites in a bowl with the fork. Then, use the makeup brush to apply the egg whites to the skin. Allow the egg whites to dry before rinsing with cold water. Olive oil can be used thereafter to ensure that the skin remains moisturized.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is effectively used to treat a myriad of skin conditions. Aloe Vera gel, which can be had when the plant is cut open, can be rubbed directly onto the affected skin. After being allowed to sit for a time, the aloe can be rinsed from the skin using lukewarm water.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is an effective over the counter remedy that can be used to help fade stretch marks. Over time, approximately one to two months, cocoa butter will help them become less visible. The cocoa butter should be applied a minimum of two times each day the area(s) most affected.
Castor Oil
Castor oil has many benefits for the body and skin and can be had in supplement and topical form. Topically, it can be massaged into the skin, directly where stretch marks appear. Do this for about 15 minutes, the wrap the area using a thin piece of cotton cloth. Then apply heat to the wrapping using a heating pad or hot water bottle. Do this daily for a month for the best results.
Olive Oil
Warm olive oil slightly and massage it into the affected area to improve its appearance. Warm olive oil works by improving circulation in the affected area and reducing the size of the stretch marks. For best results, leave the oil to be absorbed into the skin for about 30 minutes.
